Here is an article about the murder of two children by a polish immigrant woman. The murders were brutal, she stabbed the first child 50 times and the next 100 times. One of them was her son. I find this to be downright terrible. She claims she did it because she was upset over her husband being gone for long periods of time and got stressed over taking care of her child alone.
This is a horrific story. There is no acceptable reason for this woman to stab to death two innocent children and the two pet dogs. No matter how much her husband was gone, or how stressed that she was, there are always places to go or people that will take the children if you feel that you cannot care for them. I think that there is a different motive behind this, like she was trying to get attention from her husband. Killing innocent children is completely insane and she needs to be mentally checked out.
These were horrific murders so much so that people on the scene have pursued counseling. Just reading this article has made me horrified to the point where I’m trying to diminish my horror by rationalizing that no one would commit such acts without being completely insane. According to the article Plackowska tried to give a little justification to her atrocious acts by saying that she was angry and frustrated due to her husband’s prolonged absences. We all have moments of anger where we kind of snap and do things without thinking, but Elzbieta did not just snap and murder these two children in a sudden act of violence and frustration because the murder of these two children was a very prolonged affair. The article says that Plackowska stabbed her own son 100 times and the child she was babysitting 50 times and then she proceeded to brutally murder the family dogs. These gory details on the murder of these two children, one her own son, has made me sincerely hope that Placowska is very clinically insane.

I don't understand how a mother could even go this far because of the emotional bond/attachment that connects a mother to her children. She was obviously lacking the motherly instinct and makes me think that she might be mentally ill. If you were to ask any stay at home mother how they like their job they would tell you it is the best job ever (being a mother). In this case, Elzbieta obviously didn't value her role as a mother because she didn't protect her child from harm, instead she inflicted pain/harm on him and took away his most precious gift, Life. I agree with Morgan, there is no acceptable reason for why this woman decided to stab to death two innocent children. Just because things aren't going the way she wants them to in her life doesn't mean she should take them out on her child and another innocent child. She needs to either learn how to cope with her problems or she needs to seek help before it comes to the point where she gets so angry/upset that she feels the need to murder two innocent children. That's why I also think that there was something else to the story. I don't think that the woman just murdered the children because her husband was gone for long periods of time, I think she had other intentions in mind. I'm just not exactly sure what her intentions were.

Apparently she did not and was taking her anger out on the children and their family dogs. If I was the mother of the little girl, I would also be devastated. Just goes to show that some babysitters are not mentally put together to be taking care of children let alone their own.

One site is saying that the babysitter claimed to have heard demonic voices before the murder, that she had been arguing with her husband about returning to Poland, etc. Another thing I keep seeing is that she went to a church before and after the murders. I can't say this woman had a motive or not, nor can I say she is mentally ill. The fact she went to church gives me pause, because it hints that she was at least mentally stable after the murder to be concerned about her sins. Claiming she is mentally ill is too soon; it only stigmatizes those who really are mentally ill. This is a unique case with many factors. The only thing I can hope is that the murderer is brought to justice and the children who died remembered.
Is a moral dilemma solid evidence of sanity? I would say that is an interesting twist in the idea of her being crazy, imbalanced, or insane. She shows premeditation at the very least, but demon voices are a vague excuse at best. It will be interesting to see what the charges against her are. Manslaughter, first or second degree murder, each have different implications on how sane the prosecutors think she is.
This is exactly why we have background checks when it comes to finding babysitters. we need to have a psychiatric class for new hired babysitters also because this Polish lady obviously had some mental breakdowns. How can you KILL your LOVED ones of the death of a LOVED one? Makes no sense and for her to do that to her own children and dogs is outrageous! In my opinion I could see a demonic voice telling her to being that i have read some cases where demons influenced killings. Over 200 stabs to death on a family is not normal, but then again who is to say what her motive was for killing her family. My heart goes out to this incident and to the families... R.I.P
I agree with some of the other students in that there has to be an underlying, unknown mental illness that this woman has. A sain, rational person would not have killed two children and two dogs. Even if she was doing this to seek attention, there are other ways to get someones attention than killing. I am sure since this incident the woman has been looked at by a psychiatrist. This was obviously not their with this woman. I have a feeling that she started off normal and her anger over her husband leaving for prolonged periods of time made her mentally unstable. I believe she killed the children because she blames them for her husband leaving for long periods of time. I say this because maybe the husband has to make money on his oversea trips to support his family. I think this is why she stabbed them over 100 times to vent out her rage over the children being a potential reason for the husband leaving for a long time. However just as other bloggers mentioned, there are definitely other ways to solve spouse neglect issues such as seeing a counselor or even a divorce. If she had this much rage built up inside of her then she should have talked to some counselor or psychiatrist to talk about it. She could have found positive ways to let out her anger or to solve her anger issues. I too am curious about what she will be charged with.

Working on the mental health unit I got to talk with many patients who were mentally ill (none this crazy however) and many of them understood that they had a problem. She neglected to take care of personal health (includes your mental health) and in return let out rage on these children. No one in their right mind would murder two small children along with two dogs. What I find most disturbing is the number of times in which she stabbed her victims. The fact that she stabbed the two children a toltal of 150 times is clear evidence that this woman had gone insane.
I agree. The total number of stab wounds to her children prove that she wasn't killing them with the intention of helping/saving them (as crazy as that sounds, but some people do it). The number proves that it was malicious.
